You can head to your Member Library via this link. Here you’ll find all the modules, and each has a progress bar showing how much of each module you have completed. Remember that you need to have marked each part of the module as complete, and completed the assessment for it to show 100%.

If you are certain you have completed a module and it is not showing as complete, don’t stress! We have accurate completion data in the back end and will know if you’ve truly completed it. If you have received a CPD certificate for that module, it has been registered as completed with us. 

Repeating the assessment and clicking “Mark as Complete” will often fix any progress anomalies!

Certification is valid for 12 months. To renew your certificate, you just have to complete the next 12 Advanced Anaesthesia Live Series modules and remain a member.

Basic sciences
The applicant demonstrates a sound understanding of the physiology and anatomy relevant to perianaesthesia nursing.

The operating theatre environment
The applicant is able to work safely in the perioperative environment with respect to occupational hazards and situational awareness.

Sustainable anaesthesia
The candidate demonstrates awareness of the environmental impact of anaesthesia through sustainable nursing practice.

Drugs and drug safety
The candidate demonstrates safe drug handling and communicates safely in the operating theatre environment to reduce the risk of drug errors.

Patient Monitoring
The candidate utilises monitoring equipment correctly and is able to interpret data to provide safe and effective care.

General anaesthesia & airway management
The candidate has anaesthesia nursing experience across a wide range of surgical specialties and is competent is planning and assisting with airway management and anticipating risks.

Regional anaesthesia
The candidate demonstrates the ability to safely prepare for and assist with regional anaesthesia procedures.

Crisis management
The applicant is capable of identifying and managing anaesthetic crises effectively and demonstrates awareness of the relevant algorithms to guide decision-making during emergencies.

Teamwork and communication
The candidate shows strong teamwork and communication skills in the operating theatre and collaborates effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Staff wellbeing
The candidate recognises the importance of staff wellbeing in maintaining high-quality patient care. They contribute to a supportive workplace culture and help manage stressors in the perioperative environment.

Pain management
The applicant is skilled in assessing and managing intraoperative nociception and perioperative pain and understands the risks related to each modality.

Sedation and endoscopy
The candidate is proficient in assisting with sedation and endoscopic procedures.

Invasive techniques
The candidate demonstrates proficiency in anticipating, preparing for and safely managing invasive devices such as arterial and central lines.
